State Representative Margo McDermed is partnering with the Secretary of State’s office to host a summer senior driving seminar on Wednesday, July 17th from 5:30-7pm at the New Lenox Township Senior Housing Community Room, located at 1090 S. Cedar Road in New Lenox.
Local senior citizens will be given the opportunity to learn from a licensed driving instructor from the Secretary of State’s office. The class is meant to remind seniors of the written driving test as well as explain some of the newer rules of the road. The seminar will include an overview of the Rules of the Road booklet as well as a practice written test.
“I host these seminars every year because I want to make sure everyone who wants to keep driving is able to do so,” said Rep. McDermed “This seminar is a great chance for our seniors to refresh their memory before they renew their licenses. I hope a lot of my constituents take advantage of these seminars, even if they are confident drivers, because it’s important to stay fresh and up to date on the rules of the road.”
The seminar is free of charge to the public. If you cannot attend, Rep. McDermed will host another seminar in November. Registration is encouraged, you can do so by contacting Rep. McDermed’s office at McDermed@ilhousegop.org or by calling (815)277-2079.
