“The safety of my constituents has always been a top priority,” Said Rep. McDermed “One Light is a fantastic organization with a clear mission. They have taught thousands of women in the Illinois how to protect themselves from danger and I’m happy to bring them back to our district yet again.”

One Light is an Illinois based self-defense team that has been around the globe teaching self-defense several different groups of women from Girl Scouts to major businesses. Since taking office in 2015, Rep. McDermed has partnered with One Light to host nearly a dozen classes.

The class is free of charge, but a donation to One Light is appreciated. All donations go to helping victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault. Space is limited and registration is encouraged. To learn more about this class or to register, please email or call (815)277-2079.
