Frankfort, IL… State Representative Margo McDermed (R-Mokena) invites residents of the 37th Legislative House District to take advantage of a free document shredding event on Saturday, May 11th in New Lenox.
“Identity theft is a real problem; this is a great opportunity for residents to safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents as a way to help prevent identity theft,” said Rep. McDermed. “It is a quick and easy process that will be helpful to many of those who have documents they don’t feel comfortable casually throwing away.”
The free event will take place in the parking lot of the New Lenox Township Building at 1100 South Cedar Road. It will run from 10am-11am. Drivers are asked to enter off of Otto Drive and remain in their car while staff remove and shred the documents. A two bag per car limit will be enforced.
